KC Media = J O K E

I just love going to the Star and watching them bash... or attempt to bash the new General Manager and his staff.  They, obviously, do not appreciate being shunned by the new regime at 1 Arrowhead Drive. They preferred the open door policies of the former, failed administration.  Now, it seems, that they can't get any information worth reporting on.  When Adam Schefter gets better inside information than the local beat reporters... someone starts getting red-faced.  Meet the KC Star sports writers.  Pioli has single handedly downgraded the KC media to a matter worse than the worst bloggers. (See Arrowheadaddict.com)

I am just glad that KC finally has a good staff that at least resembles an administration that knows where it is going. Unlike our nation at this point.  At least one administration seems to be making good choices, that would be Pioli's. Apart from wasting a good draft-pick on someone that, I hope, gets beat out of a job by our favorite boy, Tyler Thigpen. Thiggy is going to show up to make that trade seem rediculous.  If he does, it will be the best bad decision KC has made in a long, long, long time.

By the way, if you are steamed over the diss of Arrowheadaddict.com, too bad.  Go to www.arrowheadpride.com for some real news and updates.  AA stands for Amateurish A------  you fill in the blanks.  Their ideas and articles are trash.  Again, arrowheadpride.com is the real Chiefs blog.  And no, I don't write for them.

Carl Peterson, a Dolphin?

Alright Chiefs' fans get ready to hate Carl Peterson even more.  The KC Star (okay every now and then they have a good story) said that Carl was at Miami's playoff game wearing a Dolphins pin and referring to them as "we." The Star seems to think that Carl Peterson, who knows the Dolphins' owner well, would take over the business side of the operation with Bill Parcells handling the football side, much how Clark Hunt wants the Chiefs to operate.

Could King Carl want to handle it all though? There are numerous reports that has Bill Parcells moving on from Miami. Freep.com is reporting the Parcells could be headed to Detroit to help out a historically horrible franchise. Could it be that the Tuna wants to be known as a Messiah for these down and out teams? ESPN is even reporting that Parcells has an opt-out clause in his contact, which he may use. His contract says only Huizenga, the owner, has authority over him.  However, Huizenga has agreed to sell the franchise.  Once that deal is complete Parcells will have 30 days to stay or leave. The Tuna just may be making room for a King fish.

One headline Chiefs' fans never thought they would see: Carl Peterson returns to arrowhead as a bottle-nosed dolphin.

Adam Best at Arrowheadaddict.com has been smoking his weeds again. He actually thinks the Patriots might franchise tag Cassell, which is ludicrous. He also believes the Chiefs should go after Cassell to be their quarterback. I hate to say this but dude, come down of the maryjane mountain. The only difference in Cassell and Thigpen is that Thigpen has more athleticism. Cassell won with the Patriots, who's coaching staff could come up with a gameplan that would allow a peewee team to beat the Chiefs. He also has an allstar cast to help him out. Thigpen has the worst coaching staff, and even our brightest, young star has many bad cases of the dropsies.  But sure, go spend $14M on Cassell to watch him be the next installment of the Brokie Bowl. Maybe the 49ers will take Thigpen and have their next installment of Steve Young.

Sorry Adam but your objectivity in this instance is nonexistent. As well as with your other post about Bob Stoops going to the Cowboys... He isn't leaving OU for the Jerry Jones circus.

On another note... how many caught the fact that Teicher came out with his "Tony doesn't want to rebuild" article about 4 days after everyone else had written about that story?  I hate the Kansas City Star, who runs their sports department anyway? What other paper in the world would pay good money to Big "ignorant" Sexy and "Too Late" Teicher?

“Tyler’s proven himself. He’s come out of nowhere and shown he can be an elite quarterback in this league. People need to keep in mind that it was his first year starting. He came into this season just hoping to be the third-string quarterback and now he’s pressed into the starting spotlight. I think he handled it well.

“If he gets a whole offseason and gets the (practices) and the whole camp and gets his confidence going that he’s going to be the guy, then I think he can be a pretty good quarterback in this league for a long time.”

-Tony Gonzalez

Tony Gonzalez, the best Tight End to ever play football, and the Honorary Chairman of the Thigpen fan club realizes what I have been saying all along... It was his FIRST year.  Give him some time to grow before throwing him under the Herman Edwards Coaching Bus! Enough Said!

Performance: 5 Stars
I figured we could start with, in my opinion, the best of the best. Arrowheadpride.com is the one Chiefs blog that is constantly updated with all the important news for Chiefs' fans. Although Primetime07 dislikes Tyler Thigpen, and although I will often make derogitory remarks about his postings, the site is still one of my favorites for Chiefs reads. Not only are the writers good, but they were the first Chiefs' blog to cover the firing of Mike Shantheman by the Broncos.
 Performance: 3.5 Stars
Let's face it, Adam Best is a good writer. He has managed to make ArrowHead Addicts out of many of us. He is the main writer out of a few interesting author's at ArrowHeadAddicts.com and deserves his kudos. He should stick to writing because his frequent VLOGS show him to lack charisma and seem like an amature child trying to make semi-professional broadcasts. They are quite funny to watch but not very good when it comes to quality and entertainment.  He should cut the camera off and stick to writing which he does extremely well.  The low grade comes from frequent downtimes of their website and the often rediculous article subjects.  Not only that but they don't show any love for Thiggy, and that is a must arround here.
Performance: 2 stars
While this website used to be a good one, it has fallen off recently. (I think this blogger actually started writing for Arrowhead Addict)  I am giving it the 2 stars for having a good history, but it's not worth visiting if the owner doesn't keep it more maintained.
Performance: 1 Star
This site is updated quite regularly but the writing is boring and doesn't engage the reader.  The information is not even important to me when I make the rounds to their site.  I don't recommend it.
Performace: 1 Star
Honestly I don't know that much about this site.  However, I gave them one star because I saw 2 pictures of Tyler Thigpen on their home page. That gives him a star just because.
Performance: 3.5 Stars
This website is very pretty to the eyes and looks very professional. The layout is confusing and it's difficult to find the important and essential news updates. However, I still think it remains one of the best Chiefs sites out there. PLUS, I could give them a 5 star rating because Thiggy is on their magazine cover!
Performance: 2.5 Stars
It seems "Bill" updates his Chiefs page about as much as we do. However, the cheezy layout and lack of news leaves this one with a 2.5 star rating. You can catch a link from their site to listen to live coverage of their games.
Performance: 1 Star
The Kansas City Star gets one star because they have it in their name. This newspaper is continually horrible in their Chiefs coverage. Their writers suck and I have no clue what the "regional" junk is they constantly paste onto their blog.
Performance: 4 Stars
Bob is a professional sports personality.  He shows it in his insight and news savvy.  He is just too pro-Chiefs to be annalytical sometimes so it takes away his only lacking star.

Team management hit and miss.

Herm Edwards said he didn't see any franchise quality quarterbacks in the draft.  This was his answer when questioned about taking Matt Ryan in the draft.  I wonder how much of his "eye for talent" was closed or swollen shut as he watched Ryan's workout because Ryan is a great rookie quarterback. I'm as sick of hearing about Herm's "eye for talent" as I am about hearing "You play to win the game!"  Agghh, would someone please buy me ear muffs!!!

On the flip side, Jared Allen has 14.5 sacks and 2 Safteys.  Wow, wish we had those huh?  Well I still think it was a good trade for a rebuilding team like us. Although, I still wish we could have Allen along with those draft picks.  Maybe we can get a 14+ sack man in the draft instead of drafting an UNNEEDED quarterback ;).  I gotta get Thigpen's plug in somehow.

Okay, I am sick and tired of these weirdos sounding off about Tyler Thigpen and the losing streak.  They are searously, though still hard to believe by me, putting the blame of the Chiefs' record on the shoulders of first-year starter Tyler Thigpen. They forget that the game management and play calling often make you think of the word "stink." Herm Edwards is by far the worst coach KC has had in my lifetime. I can't even imagine the kind of love affair he had with Peterson that won him the job in the first place. He wasn't exactly knockin down the competition in New York.  As a matter of fact, he was about to be run out of there as he is here. But let's not forget, Thigpen... its all his fault. Just like:
  • The Chiefs are pushing for a record for FEWEST sacks in a season. If Thigpen was a true NFL quarterback, we would have more sacks.
  • If Thigpen was really a quality NFL quarterback, we wouldn't have one of the leagues softest defenses.
  • If Thigpen could score over 30 points a game, we could win more.  Oh wait he did... I meant 50+.
  • If Thigpen was a better passer, we wouldn't have to run Pro Bowler LJ at all! We are still handing it to him 12 times a game! His 100+ yards is not important.
  • If Thigpen was a better quarterback, our Head Coach wouldn't call 2 time-outs to challenge one play, and LOSE the challenge. (Okay I know that was last year, but have you forgotten?)
  • If Thigpen was a better quarterback, blah blah blah.
Face it, Thigpen has been a huge asset to this, now powerful offense since his second start. Even Pro Bowler Tony G. has said he deserves the credit. Not that he would know anything! The real experts are these BLOGGERS that seem to think we need to waste, that is right I said waste, another draft pick on an unproven quarterback.
  • Some Knothead at "Random Remarks" thinks that Thigpen should be winning more games. (read above idiot.)
  • Primetime07 seems to think Thiggy had enough experience as a 3rd string backup to be MORE effective. (what?)
  • And the list goes on...
Get ready for some crowe next year boys, Thigpen is the next Favre in this league, only with less interceptions.

Primetime07 has a good article on the upside of ChiefsUniverse.com's favorite quarterback. While he doesn't agree with me on the fact that Thigpen is a "rookie" it's still a pleasent article on the fact that Thigpen has the talent to be great. I do think, according to his comments, that he lays too much blame for the Chiefs' record on Thigpen.  I'm just excited to see what Thiggy does next year and watching all the people jump on board this train.

Thigpen's Petition

Remember being angry when we kept Grbac instead of Gannon? Don't let it happen again! Sign the "Keep Tyler Thigpen" petition now. He has earned a shot at improving and becoming a great quarterback in this league! This time, WE want the better quarterback!

Best Team Rookie

Branden Albert has been possibly the most outstanding rookie from this years class. He has been solid on the outside against some premier defensive ends.

Universe Polling

Should Thigpen be the starter in 09?
